Organization
Cal/West Seeds is a California cooperative owned by seed producers in the Western US. The members in each region elect a representative to serve on the board of directors. A team of experienced professional Seedsmen who oversee the day-to-day operation of the business manage the company.

How Cal/West Operates
The company currently retains a portion of the value of the crop delivered. This “retain” is the grower owners investment in the business. The net margin of the company is distributed back to the members in their final payment at the close of each fiscal year. Cal/West Seeds has one of the shortest retain payout cycles in the agricultural cooperative sector.

How to Become a Member
Seed producers become members of the association simply by producing seed in the pool via a member production agreement. Landowners can also be members of Cal/West Seeds.
